Flinders Island Accommodation – Absolute beachfront holiday experience in Tasmania

Sawyers Bay Shacks are a modern interpretation of the Tassie beach shack…simple but stylish accommodation right on the beach surrounded by acres of farmland. Energy efficient with solar and wood fire heating, large open plan living area with decks on 3 sides and views across Bass Strait to Mt Strzlecki and the outer islands. For couples and small families we have our 2 bedroom shack and a larger 3 bedroom shack for bigger families or groups.

Sawyers Bay Shacks are located about 10 minutes drive from the airport and 15 minutes drive from the main town, Whitemark. So while the shacks are isolated on rural land on a safe calm water beach with no public access you are close enough to get the newspapers each day if you wish. Being centrally located on the West coast you are within about 40 minutes drive to anywhere on the island. There are no onsite managers at Sawyers Bay Shacks so you can enjoy your retreat in absolute solitude!

 

The big shack has a very large living space while the small shack is a very intimate space ideal for couples. Both shacks have well fitted out kitchen, dishwasher, ipod dock, double sided fire place onto the deck and the big shack also has a thermomix. To assist you to completely unwind there are no televisions at Sawyers Bay Shacks, but plenty of board games!
